The Big Question

Twilight paints the sky with gentle light,
Beneath the ancient oak, stars twinkle bright.
My heart races fast, palms begin to sweat,
This moment of courage, I'll not soon forget.
A thousand questions swirl in my head,
Words of love I've practiced, carefully said.
With a trembling voice, I look into your eyes,
A flicker of hope beneath the starry skies.
"Could this feeling grow?" my voice softly pleads,
Longing for connection, fulfilling both our needs.
A chance at a future, painted in vibrant hue,
My world forever changed, if you feel it too.
Time seems to stop, holding its breath for your reply,
My heart pounds a rhythm, a hope soaring high.
This moment hangs heavy, a future yet untold,
The answer I seek, worth more than pure gold.
