My Heart Knows
When thou art distant, days seem dull and grey,
My thoughts drift back to moments swept away.
This feeling grows, it shall not fade from sight,
A gentle warmth expanding with its might.
My heart beats faster at thy cherished name,
A sweet flame kindles, sets my soul aflame.
This is no shallow crush, a passing phase,
But deeper feelings grow with passing days.
The world shines brighter when thy smile beams near,
With thee beside me, joy doth persevere.
My heart doth know the truth it must confess,
A love so pure, with boundless tenderness.
Perhaps these feelings thou may also hold,
A future built together, loving, bold.
My heart, it whispers ever soft and true,
The deepest part of me holds love for you.
