Dark Independence Day
Seventy-eight years, our flag waves high,
But shadows still haunt the moonlit sky.
Mothers pray, daughters wait,
For freedom that’s still held by fate.
We boast of progress, we speak of might,
Yet, sisters tremble in the night.
What worth is pride, what cost is gain,
If hearts still carry unseen pain?
O nation bold, it’s time to see,
True freedom lies in her being free.
For when she walks without a chain,
Only then will our tricolor reign.
"For in her loss, a promise we'll keep,
To shield our healers, while they sleep."
